A warm hello I hope this mail finds you well and healthy. In this newsletter—since the topic of AI has been on my mind for quite some time—I've written a few thoughts on it… and beside that you find: New single release on December 28.

🎄 Your Christmas gift to the artists 🎄 I would like to thank you and everyone who appreciates my music, because it means a lot to me to know that there are many people out there who find healing in my music, who are inspired by it, who are reminded of the miracle that they are, who are carried through difficult times, or who simply have a good start to their day. On Spotify, almost 10,000 people voted me into their Top 5 Artists this year. THANK YOU for that. 
What most people don't know, however, is that it's hardly affordable anymore to make an album that isn't “algorithm-friendly.” The current album “Ambassador of light” for example, has about 75,000 streams... sounds great, but that only amounts to about 150 euros... the mastering alone cost 650 euros. It's doable, but it doesn't make you feel very appreciated ;-). A rethink is needed. If you want to ensure that your favorite artists can continue to release new music, especially at a time when streaming services are starting to use AI music extensively in their playlists and radio stations, support them... Downloading a song costs just over a euro. So why not download your favorite song for Christmas from bandcamp, amazonmusic, or the artist's website ... just to say thank you, a small token of appreciation that actually makes a difference. And yes, even if you have a Spotify subscription and listen to your music there, because the artist doesn't feel anything in his pocket from your streams ;-) ... your download makes a difference. THANK YOU
What remains?AI is rapidly taking over the music market. Now, the first AI song has made it to No. 1 on the Billboard charts... and not in an electronic niche, but in the rather conservative genre of “country music,” sung and composed by an AI “artist” who even successfully maintains his own social media channels with AI-generated images and texts... The quality is getting better and better and is already so good that most people can no longer tell whether it's a real production or just something generated. The machinery is learning rapidly in the background in all major music catalogs from all artists who have released anything anywhere, and the market is already flooded with AI productions. The major streaming services have already figured out how to use AI music to pay themselves a share of the royalties... and, of course, they want to increase this share at the expense of real artists. Major labels such as Warner are now entering into partnerships with major AI providers such as Suno, which means nothing less than that a model is being developed to ultimately push real musicians out of the market. In the near future, they will probably be replaced by a kind of “make a wish jukebox” where you simply enter your desired mood and genre, and you'll get the perfect music tailored to your taste, 24/7, always new. Just like Spotify radio works today, only without artists Perhaps this still sounds a little utopian to some people, but this is precisely the scenario we are heading towards—at least in the digital world. And not just in music, but in all areas of life. The interfaces are not yet fully developed, but that is only a matter of time... a short time... In the meantime, we can ask ourselves: How do I deal with this? What do I actually do when AI takes over “my field”... whether you're a musician, web designer, cameraman, author, taxi driver, factory worker, financial juggler, or office worker... As a musician/music producer, it will soon no longer make sense – at least from a financial point of view – to produce and release anything... Of course, you can still do it for the pure joy of creating, but even that joy has to be financed, because you need a lot of stuff and time to be able to produce a decent production... And even if I still have plenty of that, the question arises as to whether it is so satisfying when I could produce a similar result in less than a minute with a short prompt (and others are already doing so, creating and releasing music that sounds like it was made by me). The drive to really engage with something, to master it, and to bring something into the world from within oneself is once again being massively undermined by AI... The temptation to become a pure consumer is becoming immense, even if this naturally has drastic consequences. And AI doesn't pay for bread rolls and rent, of course. The good thing I can see in this development is that we are being thrown back on ourselves. When the definition of ourselves through our DOING collapses, it will be necessary to rediscover the definition of ourselves through our BEING. The discovery of our heart qualities, our mental abilities, our joy in creating and expressing ourselves... will play a central role in a world where AI can do everything better, except for LIFE itself, in encounters, in the joint creation of magic, joy, connectedness, and self-expression.
